Aust Ch Shira Fire Dancer

Andre winning Baby Puppy in ShowAndre was my introduction to the Lhasa Apso.  A son of Aust/Am Ch Hylan Sho Tru Candidate (Imp USA), he came from Linda Mitchell who lives in Yass.  Our friend and mentor Jenny Longmire picked him out for us, so he came to us sight unseen.

Andre was a challenge!  He had this coat, which was sooooo slow to grow.  But he also had attitude!  A true Lhasa temperament, he was stubborn and strong willed, and a little bit cranky at times too.  Nothing has changed, at 10 years old he is the same as always!

Nothing Else Matters

He has been used at stud just a handful of times, with two bitches shown for a fair time that I know of.  One is our own Aust Ch Worthingstar Sweet Rose, who was bred by Miriam & Selina Mobbs, and came to us as our pick of litter.

Andre was a multiple Class in Show winner under Specialist judges.  His very first show was the Lhasa Apso Club of NSW Easter Specialty.  He came home with Best Baby Puppy in Show.  He went on to win Puppy in Show at this same show.  Both wins were under Lhasa Apso specialists.

In 2000 Andre was retired from the ring and clipped off.  In 2001 an intruder in our yard attacked him (he would defend his home to the death) and he lost the sight in one eye.  He was lucky that was all that happened.

Andre is still going strong (although a little bit blind) at 12 years old.
