Ch Rysup Double Or Nothing
16/06/1998 - 25/08/2008 Darcy was from my long awaited litter sired by Grand Ch Nynka Such A Dutchman. Levi was a stunning dog, and I had wanted to use him at stud for some time, and eventually I got my wish. After a lot of anticipation, Lucy presented us with just 2 puppies, both males when we were hoping for a girl. However the quality of these 2 puppies could not be denied and so both stayed. Darcy was no ones pick but mine. Everyone chose Drew over him, but I knew that Darcy just needed some time. So he sat back during the baby puppy classes as Drew swept all before him. But at his last show in Baby Puppy, Darcy decided enough was enough, and from that day, when he won his first Class in Group, he has never looked back. In
just one
month, Darcy took an impressive
number of wins at Breed, Group and Show levels.
Two R/U
BIG
awards, 2 Minor in Shows, 5 Minor in Groups and
over 1/2 way to
his title at just 7 months of age. The Puppy Class was just as
good, with wins including
Puppy in Show
at the Non
Sporting DC of NSW,
also
Puppy in Show AND
Champion Puppy in Show
at the Keeshond
Club of NSW under Keeshond Specialist Gina
Marsh of Keesland Fame (UK). He topped off a great run
(all these wins were in consecutive shows) with Puppy in Show
at the large metropolitan Ladies Kennel Association of NSW Show.
Not long after this Darcy had a break from the ring, and then a 3 month holiday in Victoria with Janette Pearson. He came home with multiple Best in Group awards, as well as Junior in Show at the Keeshond Club of SA under Keeshond Specialist Wendy Vicum (Renhei). Darcy is a proven sire, with 3 Champion offspring from his first litter. Darcy would
be my most consistent winner out of all my dogs - he just
had that appeal that 9 out of 10 judges loved! In his career
he
amased an amazing 16 Classes in Show, 20 Classes in Group, 4 Best in
Group and 4 RU Best in Group. He was not heavily
campaigned, and I feel if he had have been shown more often, then he
would have gained his Grand Ch title with ease. However we
decided to retire Darcy from the All Breeds Ring when his son came
along in 2002.
He was, however, very excited to come out at Easter and win Best Veteran in Show (x2) at the KCNSW Championship Shows! Darcy passed away unexpectedly 25th August 2008. RIP Old man.
